Jared's idea

Well I looked at this photo from last week and was surprised to already see a small change in my face. I got this idea to do this every couple of weeks. Helps me stay motivated to keep on this healthy train.

Day 1

Day 1-Ready to start our journey...

I received an email with a healthy meal plan from my cousin Sammy just the other day. Since I have a hard time following anything and a husband who hates vegetables, I decided to change things up just a little. We began the day with 1/2 cup of oatmeal, 6 blackberries, flax seed and almond slivers. 1/2 a grapefruit (no sugar added) and a glass of a milk, YUM!

Got in a 30 minute walk...a little grocery shopping and a delicious peanut butter and banana protein shake. Already had a moment of weakness and bought all the ingredients to make Chi chi dango (see picture below).

For lunch we had 1-2 pieces of whole grain pita bread with hummus and a cucumber, tomato and avocado salad-who knew to lose weight I'd be eating so much?

Took Lil Papi our Brussels Griffon for a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood. And guess what? It's time for another snack! 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt and a handful of blueberries.

Dinner was delectable! Made sesame chicken broccoli served over ramen noodles. Even the hubby liked it!

2012

With a new year in progress, Jared and I agreed to embrace a new us. This of course meant that we started and stopped the same New Years resolutions at least 5 times already this year. (I know, it's only January 29) But, we won't let that stop us. Once again we are starting anew. So to help us stick to it we are sharing our struggles and triumphs with all of you. Cheers to a brand new life!
